1. Information We Collect
When you use Trupitch, we collect:
- Account information — your email address and authentication details.
- Profile data — your name and avatar image, if you choose to upload one.
- Resume content — text extracted from resumes you upload, used to personalize interview questions.
- Voice recordings — audio you record during practice sessions, used to generate transcripts and feedback.
- Practice session data — your answers, transcripts, scores, and AI-generated feedback.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to Pro, billing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To generate personalized interview questions tailored to your resume and target company.
- To transcribe your voice recordings and analyze your answers, using AI processing providers, to provide coaching feedback.
- To convert text to speech for an interactive practice experience.
- To track your progress, session history, and subscription status.
- To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, or support requests.
3. How We Store Your Data
Your account data, resume text, session history, and recordings are stored securely, with access controls that ensure only you can access your own data. Voice recordings and transcripts are processed by third-party AI providers solely to generate your feedback and are not used by us for any other purpose.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with trusted service providers strictly to operate our service, including:
- Authentication & database providers — to securely manage your account and store your data.
- AI processing providers — to transcribe your voice recordings, analyze your answers, generate interview questions, and provide text-to-speech playback.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — to run and serve the application.
- Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookie-free page view analytics (no personal data is collected).
- Error monitoring tools — to detect and fix technical issues. Error reports may include technical context such as browser type, page URL, and an anonymized user identifier.
Each provider is contractually restricted to using your data only to provide services to us, and is bound by its own privacy policy.
5. Voice Data & Biometric Information
Your practice session recordings contain your voice. In some jurisdictions (such as Illinois, Texas, and Washington), voice recordings used to identify an individual may be considered biometric information subject to additional legal protections.
- We use your voice recordings solely to generate a text transcript and provide interview feedback — we do not use them to create a voiceprint, identify you across sessions, or for any biometric identification or authentication purpose.
- Recordings are stored securely so you can review and play back your past practice sessions, and are shared with our AI processing providers solely to generate your transcript and feedback.
- We do not sell, license, or otherwise disclose your voice recordings to any third party for marketing or other purposes.
- You may request deletion of your voice recordings at any time by deleting your account, or by contacting us at the email below.
6. How We Use Audio Data
When you use a feature that records your voice — such as a practice interview session — your browser will first ask for microphone permission with a clear, purpose-specific prompt. We only record while you are actively in a session, and recording stops as soon as you finish or leave it. Most browsers show their own indicator (such as a red recording icon in the tab or address bar) while your microphone is active, so you always know when you're being recorded.
Your recordings are stored securely so that you can review and play back your past sessions from your history. They are shared with our AI processing providers only to generate a transcript and feedback, and are not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond improving your practice experience. You can revoke microphone access at any time through your browser or device's site permission settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account information, resume text, session transcripts, recordings, scores, and feedback for as long as your account remains active, so that you can review your practice history, play back past sessions, and track your progress over time.
- If you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, resume, session history, transcripts, and recordings, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations (e.g., billing records required for tax purposes).
- Backups containing your data may persist for a limited additional period before being purged as part of our routine backup rotation.
8. Your Rights
You can update your profile information, change your password, or cancel your subscription at any time from your Settings page. You may permanently delete your account and all associated data (sessions, resume, recordings, and profile) from Settings → Account → Delete account. This action is irreversible.
9. Cookies
Trupitch uses only essential cookies required for the service to function:
- Authentication cookies — used to maintain your login session. These are strictly functional and cannot be used to track you across other websites.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies. Our page view analytics are cookie-free and do not collect personal data.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know — you may request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete — you may request that we delete your personal information. You can do this at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we have never done so.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@trupitch.ai or delete your account directly from your Settings page.
11. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and strict access controls, to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
Trupitch is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
